In the Highlands of Scotland nestling at the foot of the impressive Cairngorm Mountains is 'Balliefurth', a family run farm on the banks of the famous River Spey, situated between Nethybridge and Grantown-on-Spey, an area beautifully portrayed in the T.V. series 'Monarch of the Glen'.
Renowned for it's natural beauty and diversity of flora and fauna, Strathspey has many attractions for the discerning visitor, from the snow capped mountains to the beautiful pine forests, rivers and streams. We are delighted to show you around our farm, including cattle, sheep, and an immense range of birds and other wildlife.
We offer a high standard of accommodation of various kinds to suit your needs. Farmhouse bed and breakfast is in the main house with open fires and ensuite bedrooms. Breakfasts are freshly cooked using local ingredients including our own beef sausages.
A self catering unit for two, also part of the main house although totally separate, has been recently renovated to a very high standard.
Our other unit, Tigh na Coille is in the village of Nethybridge and is also of a very high standard. It has it's own enclosed garden backing on to a pine wood, where there are red squirrels and deer.
The prices of both properties include all linen and electricity.
This area is a very popular area for walking, fishing, climbing, bird watching, canoeing and sailing, skiing and sight seeing. With whisky distilleries, Loch Ness, Balmoral and RSPB's Loch Garten reserve all within easy driving distance, we offer a superb, welcoming and comfortable base for your holiday in the Highlands.
